‘Dress it up!!’
In some respects, officers all are the same. A commander at Sacramento snaps at his men to “dress up that line” in a Union formation at last year’s
re-enactment.

Promoting culture
The Behringer-Crawford Museum has received a $10,964 Kentucky Arts Partnership grant for its contributions to the Commonwealth’s cultural heritage.
The Covington museum is a strong supporter of the state’s Civil War heritage and culture. Museum Executive Director Laurie Risch (fifth from left) and
Assistant Director Sarah Siegrist (second from left) accepted a ceremonial check in Frankfort Feb. 22. Others are (from left) Kentucky Arts Council board
member Andee Rudloff; Museum Trustee Gary Johnston; Sen. Jack Westwood; Rep. Arnold Simpson; Sen. Katie Stine; Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet
Deputy Director Lindy Casebier; and Museum Trustee John Boh.
House of death
When a measles epidemic with pneumonia complications struck Fort Duffield in 1861, the Ditto-Lansdale House at West Point was pressed into service as a
military hospital. Sixty-one men died and were buried on a hill south of the fort.
 See Fort Duffield story.
A kiss is just a…
Tana Sheets may have had second thoughts about a kiss from husband
Rick at a recent Civil War ball. Western Tennessee and Kentucky
photographer Angela Elliott caught the moment at an event in
Stewart County, Tenn. Elliott is well known for her Civil War and
Eagle photography.
Opening concert
